I did my own taxes for years. I had seen a well-known competitor's software while helping a friend file, but found that product to be less than fully transparent with regard to underlying worksheets, forms and IRS instructions. Then a couple of yesrs ago, I looked for help to file in multiple states. On the advice of a friend, I tried the H&R Block software. I like that I can easily pull up relevant IRS instructions, worksheets and forms, while the software guides me through the process. It gives me confidence that I am filing an accurate return.
I have used H&R Block for years. I am not an accountant so I find that the format and instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I am confident, when finished, that my return is accurate.
H&R Block has consistently provided me with an easy and accurate way of filing my taxes electronically for many years. I first used this program when it was called TaxCut.
I've used a few other companies tax software in the past but I prefer H&R Block's software. It just seems to be more user friendly. Some other companies software try to be user friendly by putting in little cartoons and goofy illustrations but that just gets in the way.
