I've used this product for over a decade, and it has always been pretty good. This year, it has crashed numerous times, given me bad information, told me I was at a slightly elevated risk of being audited because I took an earned income credit. I did not take the EIC and wasn't eligible for it. It prompted me to review forms that needed nothing done to them, and was generally very shaky. I hope the return I just sent to the IRS is ok.
I used H&R Block tax software for years. In 2020, I was in a bad accident and lost my job while comatose. I still filed for 2020, since I worked a good portion of it. I did not work in 2021 due to injuries still healing, which I could not file a return for. I was nervous about getting it filed correctly this year, but it was incredibly easy to do, despite not filing the previous year. I really appreciate it being simple instead of a headache.
I been using H&R Block software for years. It is easy to use. My only complaint is it doesn't have my broker to import 1099-B which makes the manual entry tedious.
Basically great but needs a little improvement or instructions. How do you handle Medicare Part C premiums. An additional work sheet with RMD / QCD for IRA withdrawals.
When I went to file, it asked me for my credit card to E-File my state form. It immediately charged my credit card. Then it told me I had to update to the latest version and then file. In order to file, I had to put in my credit card again, and of course it charged me again. Not sure if the first will be refunded or I will will have to chase H&R Block for a refund due to poor software design.
