I used another tax software for several years, but I led to big mistakes two years in a row. Tax Cut has worked flawlessly for the past 20 years. It seems most financial institutions only allow data to be imported by Turbo Tax, but it is not difficult to enter the data by hand with Tax Cut. Hopefully, more and more institutions will allow downloads to Tax Cut in the future.
I've been using this program for almost a decade without problems. This year, it glitched on me, making it impossible to work on my tax return. It was difficult figuring out who to call and how to get around all the computer gatekeepers who kept sending me off to chase my tail. Once I finally figured out a way to actually get to a human, the service was good, even though they didn't figure out my problem.
Oil Royalty segment is still needing some improvements. Since I report royalties every year, I would assume that when software imports past year's information, it would go more directly to pertinent needed entries for this year. Instead, I go manually to the forms and enter information line by line.
