Year after year I have used H & R Block Deluxe software. It's like having a friend asking me easy questions about my taxes. Since I use the software every year, I can inport last year data directly into this years taxes. That saves me time. It also brings forward my capital gains both long term and short term to be used against my profit and losts this year. I am confident my taxes are done right.

Makes tax filing straightforward

I have been using H&R Tax Software for years. This year I realized I made a mistake in my 2021 filing. I was stressed until I fired up my last year's program and it stepped me through the 1040X process to create an amended form. I'm a believer.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

The state tax software had a Strategic Capital Tax Credit item, but did not support the required DR 2330 form required to file. I didn't understand it and had to zero the item. That resulted in a significant tax liability.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
