For three years in a row, TaxCut software has been non-compliant with the IRS Instructions for completing Line 11 on Schedule A. This has resulted in my requiring Congressional support to get a refund within 12 months of my 60-day-early filing. I naively thought that TaxCut would fix such an obvious error that cost thousands of filers lengthy delays in getting their tax refunds - I was wrong. I will NEVER use TaxCut again.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

For many years now I have used the H & R Block tax software and have never had any problems. However, for the 2022 return there were several software problems that took amonth before they were resolved. My federal return was rejected five times due to software issues until finally a third update solved the problem. In the NY state non qualified pension plan income was reported as both wages and 'other' income causing a significant reduction in refund. So to sum itit up, I was not happy with the software experiane this year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
