It’s become expensive for my simple return. There is a lack of explanation for background computations that results in manually checking IRS regs and forms. I’ve used the product many times over the years, but will likely try another product next tax season.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

I would not nor ever recommend to anyone to use this software. Its up to the individual to want the software, I am not responsible for others financial obligations. However, I found a misspelled word a typing error... somewhere in the program, I would have to look for it. I suspect the error is in the Federal side and in the middle of the federal program. Your problem. I recommend to run a master program through a virgin spelling correction program. You will not find it, if you use a used application since someone clicked on the error before and probably saved the error in the dictionary. Good luck... someone will find it.
I have one more suggestion. I have no control to correct this problem I have with the State, as the problem originates and caught me blind in the Federal Application.. Not going to research. I corrected the problem with an amended return.I would have appreciated a notice that said, what your put in this block will be transferred to the state return. Then I sent the Federal in and the submission passed the pre inspection and could not correct the pre disposed money reported to the State. What a mess. I would certainly have appreciated a warning on the Federal return of the lock down of the number transferred to the State return I should have3 been warned.
And another... I had no insight to why the IRS could not find my bank account number in my Federal return. I worked for the IRS 10 years and most embarrassed that submission was accepted but the money could not be extracted. I have not proved this is or is not a human error.

Some forms are just not available through the software, which makes completing this more difficult. Also, I could not print out my forms to send them because of pending updates. What if I don't want to wait for them? The help feature really doesn't help at all, refers you back to the website to search on your own. Waste of time.
