This year the software has a critical (and still unpatched) bug on my Mac running Ventura. When trying to print (either to printer or PDF), the formatting of the pages is completely messed up so only a part of each page is displayed. Googling found plenty of people with the same issue and some who had found a workaround, but it is utterly unacceptable that the software was released with such a major issue (since printing returns is an essential component of tax return software) and utterly disgraceful that it has not yet been patched. And the workaround is a bit of a hassle, too.
I have used H&R block for years. It is my go to Tax software. There were instances when due to my foreign assignments, my company would do my taxes but even in those years I would get H&R Block to ensure what they were doing was correct.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I can't imagine trying to do my taxes anymore without H&R. In the 90's (?) when I did them by hand it took hours/days...it still does take a few hours, but many less. And they are much more complicated than they used to be ( thank you Congress & IRS).
Easy to use, thorough, provided details / explanations of what info was asked for and why. Seemed to get me all the benefits possible. Showed me where to put all the different and new "incomes".
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
