I/ve used H&R Block software for five years now and have never had an issue with it. I find the product easy to use, accurate and fast. Done in under an hour every time.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
It works like it’s supposed to. Looks identical to previous years so honestly price should be dropping because there are NO new features to help you. And prices just keep going up so that’s the bad.
my biggest complaint is you have ignored a situation where one wishes to file even though he has no taxable income. Reason being, we have to keep our name and SS number current as that is what they key on for things like covid money. my handycapped son had no taxable income so your software wouldn't allow electronic filing which I paid for. I had to us the US mail.
Did not leave me with a warm fussy feeling when I finished the state program. It is better the second year because it forwards last years entries you can edit.
Easy to use software and catches errors when you do something stupid. If you have used H&R Block the previous year uploading last years filing makes doing this years tax report easy and quick!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
your program said there might be a penalty due to not paying enough tax. i do not pay quarterly, but i have taxes taken out of my pension. h&r block does not explain nothing about what the cutoff price is that flags this penalty or how much the penalty is, or whether i want the gov to figure the penalty or myself. just getting hit with this for the first time is strange, especially when i know of several friends that owe more than me and was not informed of any penalty. when h&r block hits you with a possible penalty, then they need to fully explain what it is and what the formula is for deciding if there is a penalty and what is the amount of taxes owed to receive this penalty so that i can make a decision on raising my taxes taken out of my pension, or going the quarterly route, or if i have been singled out for the penalty. this is the kind of thing that makes people decide on other software. in fact, it would be interesting if i would receive the same penalty if i run the same data through turbo tax. i have been with h&r block for many years, so i would expect a good explanation. thank you for listening to my complaint. i am looking forward to a detailed answer.
