It gets the job done. I like the efile for the federal tax, not wild about the fee for the state's file. Am getting tired of having to use a windows product to run it. My systems are linux which I use for everything else. Would be great to have a version for Linux.

Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Been using H&R Block Software on my Windows 11 machine for the past 3 years. It is working out just fine. I used to use the online product, but when the price went up, I moved to the installed version which is cheaper (not sure why). Same great product. They do want you to purchase the State, but in Colorado I can go online and do it for free.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

For the most part, HRBlock Deluxe is pretty good. However, this year as I had to report Required Minimum Distribution data from my IRA, I found the instructions to be absolutely impossible to follow. Instead of asking me directly about how much I needed to take to satisfy the RMD requirements and how much I actually took, you got into language about "excess accumulations" in my IRA which made no sense.
