It worked just fine until submitting to IRS. Kept reporting stare needed an update, however was able to charge my credit card 11 times for the state return. After two calls, and hours on Help Desk finally resolved that I needed to re-enter the entire return on the new copy of software I loaded. It worked, but took my entire morning to complete about six hours. Not fun.
Not any better than another program I used for years. And what is disappointing, I believe H&R software used to have free TAX ( not product) support, which is now available for HUGE extra bucks! I wish I knew it earlier so that could switch to another tax software.
I have used this software for many years and I like it a lot. This year was by far the worst year I have ever had using HFR Block. It seems they changed several things and now it is very difficult to use. When you “open form”, it used to show the IRS form like the 1040, let’s say. Now it shows a computer form and makes it very hard for me to find the information I needed. When you’re finished and try to print the form on an IMac, it becomes pure hell. The page would be all messed up and cut the page in half not showing the right half of the page. I contacted customer support three times before I could get it printed. Then when I saved the return at the end, the saved copy was in the what I will call the computer form and was 53 pages. My entire return was only 3 pages of the IRS forms. Would you really need to to print 53 pages instead of 3?
Easy to use, providing help with most topics and making e-filing easy. Occasionally there is a topic for which quick help is missing. The program seems quite trustworthy.
The federal worked fine but I was unable to download the state software (Ohio). Ohio was not an option on the menu. Customer Service gave me a new download after I uninstalled and deleted original copy of software. Same issue. I gave up and did state online with excellent. state provided tools.
