Plain Negligent Federal and State Software Errors

Two glaring errors or bugs I experienced with this years' software. #1 This software does not correctly handle when your mortgage is sold and you have two mortgage interest and property tax forms. The software doesn't handle it and worse is also that the calculation directions advice regarding that issue is also incorrect & useless. #2 The state tax software program improperly defaults to a standard deduction, does not query for the user to select nor logically select itemization when it should do so, and only manual manipulation of the KS SCH A form selects the proper use of itemized results. If not for my above and beyond diligence I would have owed $2,000 more in taxes by this poor software. Really this result is certainly a fair case for a refund on your guarantee. Also there are two points inside the software that it provides opportunities to review, the first won't send, and the second is simply just a bad URL.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using H&R Block Deluxe Software for more than the last eight years. I have been a repeat customer because it is easy to understand and guides me through the process of filing my taxes with confidence and guaranteed accuracy. The software won't let me e-file my return until I have corrected any missing information or wrong entrees. It also lets me know if the IRS has accepted my submission after their instant review.
