Good but only if you need ONE state. Otherwise NOT

I've been using HRB Deluxe for 2 decades. They keep taking steps backwards. There used to be a report comparing current to prior year. It left 8 or 9 years ago. Also the xtra state modules cost more that the full Fed + one state.! If you libe in say New Jersey and work in NY you need to but the extra one. They should discount more than one state module. If they did I'd give FIVE stars

Cons: Time consuming

HR Block tax software is simple and intuitive…truly easy to use. My returns are quickly accepted by both federal and state treasury offices…testimony to its completeness and quality of its return validation process. I simply can’t see me using anything else to compile and submit my taxes.

i have been using since 2012. Very easy to use if you have all your documents and information handy. My returns are always accepted by the IRS and California Tax Board with no need for changes. They are both accepted within 6 to 8 hours, often less.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have been using Taxcut for the past 10years. This years version would not download 1099 Div, 1099 Int, or 1099B information from my brokerage account (Mac IOS ). Spent countless hours on the phone with tech representatives from both Taxcut and my brokerage account. After being assigned a case number by Taxcut no further action was taken to correct the problem. After researching on the internet it appears Taxcut does not want to work with Microsoft??? Anyways what worked in previous years no longer worked for me.
Cons: Hard to import documents

not as user-friendly (filing tax return work flow and clarity) as TurboTax. Not offer paying by free eCheck is the most obvious difference.
