In using help there are too many robots that lead you to options with no option for NONE and then it just leaves you hanging. Obviously not tested very well. Also not 24 hours....with so much overseas help why not go 24 hours???? Prior yearrs software were better.
Please make it easier to open a line or box especially if you have to go back to one Also, I had 1 document only partially imported. I noticed when I did my state that it had 0state taxes paid. This made a difference with my Fed and state tax.
Been using H&R for years. For some reason this year’s software did not import last year’s data which is on the same computer. Never asked to import and if there was a way to do it such was not obvious. Wasted my time.
I have used Block since tax your 2016 and am familiar with the interview process they use. One quibble I have with the 2022 program is that returns are due 4/18/2023, but the program says there will be a Federal update 4/20/2023.
Could not process a 1099-LTC using income guidance. Cold not get software to locate1099-LTCdata. That and a problem during the review said problem. Same issue I had bak in 2021, 2020, and 2019.
I've been using TaxCit software since 1996. It has proven quite useful, but this is the first year that they have made a mistake. Virginia started a phase-in this year of subtraction for part of military retirement pay. I qualified for that subtraction, but my wife did not. The subtraction was limited to $10,000 for 2022, but when TaxCut filled in the form it inserted $20,000 on the tax form which included $10K for my wife as well. I had to manually override the form (after I went back to the beginning to make sure I entered the correct information - which I did). The instructions said the subtraction was limited to $10K, but the wrong number was entered on the form.
I will continue to use this product for as long as it is reasonably priced. I would prefer that rather than just 5 free federal efiles, that I get 2 federal and 2 state efiles for free.
