Did I actually file successfully?

Who knows? I kept getting error messages that the software couldn't connect to the IRS. Got an email that return was accepted by the IRS, then another that it was rejected. And the program still says it hasn't been submitted. So who knows? And good luck getting help.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Frustrating, Wastes Time

The web version is better. The software version doesn't let you just select a standard deduction. At the end, I got constant errors when trying to e-file, saying Bad Gateway. Then after 20 minutes of troubleshooting it said I already filed. I had received an email at the same time saying they submitted my taxes, but the software kept giving the "Bad Gateway" error when I tried to check status. If you only print and mail in your taxes, it's fine, I guess; very frustrating otherwise. At least it's not incredibly expensive.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1) Why does the required minimum distribution button auto select with no option to unselect when birthdate is provided and the person is under the age required for RMD? 2) Can this be made simpler for teenagers who still live at home, but have a small income?

I’ve been using H&R Block’s tax program for many years. I had my taxes done when I moved to another state because I had to file in 2 different states and the agent messed up my taxes badly and ended up getting bills from the IRS with interest. I’ll never do that again. I will use the program from now on

just followed the instructions and it was easy. the only thing was the program kept freezing when trying to file. check my email and my return had been submitted several times. It shows as not filed in the system. So that is disappointing, first time I've had issues.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I purchased the app online and received the download link in a matter of minutes. Once downloaded and installed, the app walks me through the Federal Form 1040 step-by-step with no technical jargon. The State tax form is also included and the app automatically populated the State form with the necessary data from the federal form. There is a separate fee that must be paid which is billed by the state in order to e-file.
