I've had headache after headache using the software. First complaint is that it was down ON TAX DAY. Then my forms kept being rejected by IRS for not matching spouses AGI from previous year. I followed directions several times and each time it kept getting sent back. I used a form, I used my AGI, I used my spouses - nothing worked.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As usual HP double-imports just about every form. At one point they actually showed 400 % of my actual investment income, and I had to go back and debug. Secondly because of an M&A related stock distribution, I had 182 different transaction dates resulting in 364 1099B lines. HP required me to open and accept each form, rather than just to accept the distribution information as presented by the ESPP.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used TaxCut for more than a decade. This year will likely be the last. The e-file process was broken, frustrating and stress inducing. I will be exploring alternative modes of managing tax season in 2025
