I purchase H&R Block deluxe 2023 software every year… Mainly because I hate doing taxes. They make doing taxes easier… And find deductions I do not know about.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I've used H&R Block's Deluxe/State solution for YEARS, but was vexed by an inability to file April 14th and until the night of 4/15. Was there a denial of service attack? Whatever the problem, everyone affected deserves a free copy of next year's product...because absent that, I'll probably migrate to Intuit's product. I wasted HOURS trying to file over two days and racked up dozens of "hold" charges on my credit card.
purchased deluxe software on line. used activation code for free federal e-file but the code had reached the free e-file limit. so i paid instead of printing. some deals are too good to be true
I have been using H & R Block software for my taxes for over 8 years, and I have been completely satisfied with the program and the assistance it offers.
I have used this software for years and I WAS really happy with it until this year. HR Block haf an outage on April 14-15 that prevented me.from e-filing. Since HR Block kept charging my credit card, my bank's fraud department contacted me saying they saw suspicious activity on my account. Since I don't want to be in trouble with the IRS, and I don't want my credit card cancelled, I will choose a.different option for.filing my taxes un the futurw. ,
I used to be a tax professional who prepared many individual tax returns. I think the software is good, not great. The main challenges- not being able to see a draft 1040 before final release. And clearing the poorly explained “errors” before finally releasing the return, with poor guidance on how to do so. Otherwise the software was easy to use.
I used the Turbo one for years, until the last two years. My returns are relatively simple. I do, however, have Mutual Fund type accounts. This requires me to file simple 1099 B's. The other popular program requires me to upgrade to their more expense versions, even Deluxe won't allow this. The H&R Block version costs less, does more, and is every bit as easy. For me, the choice is a no brainer.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
