The software does not provide sufficient explanations for some items. For example, this year you need to upload your w2 for Pennsylvania e-file? Why did that change from previous years? There should be an override for that but no explanation is provided. May look to change software next year and I have been a Block customer for 10+ years.

Been using H&R Block desktop tax software for many years. There has been very little improvement to the platform across later versions. The interface is still clunky and sometimes hard to navigate, with items hidden and little ability to navigate to something and come back to precisely the spot you left. Help is sometimes OK but often lacking in useful information. The main focus of the software sometimes seems to be an effort to trick you into spending more money on "value-added" features like buying state products and paying to e-file state returns when most people can do it quickly, easily and for free on the state's taxation website. In general, it gets the job done, but really doesn't rise above expectations in any way.

I have been using your software for YEARS, for my self and my family! I love that it brings forward the information from the prior year. Makes the current year's return much easier to complete. The questions and comments are easy to follow and it is a relief when the I pass the "accuracy test!" Excellent product and very intuitive!

Comprehensive interview process to ensure minimal audit risk with maximum benefit. Used this software since 1998 with no issues except having to upgrade my PC to Windows 10 for installation. Some of us still operate older PCs because they work.

HR Block walks you through most everything pretty well. The problem comes with Sch K-1 and any excess schedules required, such as, Form 7203 which is does not provide. Also, if you want to print out special sheets not required for the return, like Sch A, then you get all of the 6 sheets instead of the first one you need for your own records. There is no way to allow this. That should be fixed.
Pros: Easy to prepare
