I have used H&R Block for over 20 years. The fact that the server went down ON TAX DAY is a problem. A worse problem is your complete lack of communication to the community, your customers, or any other media regarding the outage. How many people were not able to file their taxes on time because of your negligence? You knew the system was down the day before. You should have been all over every communication outlet telling everyone so that they could have made alternate plans. Additionally, your multiple charges for the attempts to submit the e-file is egregious. Shame on you. You need to make this right.

Another easy tax season with HR Block software

I've used either Turbo Tax or HR Block for at least 15 years. For over the last 5, I've consistently used HR Block. For me, it's easier, has proven to be accurate, and I seem to complete my returns a little quicker and with more confidence. So, no reason to switch to something else.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Does what it should. Seems a bit expensive. Sometimes it asks for info or flags data that seems irrelevant (such as average mortgage balance on mortgage interest worksheet, which should be unnecessary); not easy to get explanation or help with providing value. Issues importing consolidated 1099 from Schwab.

Really bad experience using the software. Had duplicate entries that didn't show up until I printed it. Would have cost me thousands if I didn't print it.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
