I’ve used his software often but was very disappointed in how it handled a recent issue. The software is generally okay but a serious flaw in how it handles mortgage interest and home equity loans caused confusion. Support contact is very limited and failed to address the issue. An internet search revealed that Turbotax users had the same problem but Turbotax assisted them an actual solution.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been using this tax package for a number of years and have nothing but good things to say about it. It steps you from start to finish in a straightforward questionnaire format. As long as you have all your year end tax forms at hand the process is quick and efficient.

Purchased software in Feb, could not file to march

The tax form for the EV tax credit was not ready till April. Then when I finally could file, my efile was rejected due to a problem with the H&R taxes software as reported by H&R support. I've used this product for years. Nest year I may reconsider purchasing again.

I have used this program for many years. This year I struggled with trying to determine if my son and daughter- in - law should file joint or married separately. The program said if would compare, but in the end I was very confused. I thought I would be able to choose one or the other, but that wasn't the case. I think I could only chose joint. I ended up backing the info out and creating two separate ones so we could file married/separate for them. Also my activation code didn't work, however the 800# was very easy and quick to get one that did work.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
