I've been using H&R Block software for years and this year may have been my last. When I had what should have been a simple question to answer, the Help file was useless. the chat bot was useless. The online help was useless. The LIVE PERSON was useless. Where did I find the answer? In an online help site for Turbo Tax! I spent two hours trying to get that answer from H&R Block! Additionally, I'm fairly certain I didn't get all the deductions I should have and ended up owing for the first time in years! VERY disappointing! (Please note: I have zero problem paying my fair share of taxes. Zero.). Also, when it says it includes "State", they should include FILING! But they charge EXTRA for that. So misleading!
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Kinda a bummer it costs to file state. The only other thing I'd say is the "help" instructions could be a little more explanatory. The federal help is a little better than the state help but both could use some clarity.

The H&R Block Deluxe tax package makes tax preparation simple , about an hour from start to finish and half of that time is shuffling various statements in out tax folder. The first time you use a source it can be tedious entering the account info but that is all there for as long as you continue to have that source such as a 1099
