I bought the Tax Federal and State Deluxe version of H&R Block and completed my own taxes via and interview process. If you have all your tax paperwork available and in order, you should be able to answer each question and see whether you owe or would be getting a refund. I downloaded the Software onto my computer and did my own taxes. Recommended.

after all these years you have still not fixed the CSA retirement 1099 so it has the state information needed to fill out the 1040 and MN state tax forms. As a result I cannot file my state tax digitally since it is missing the state id # apparently.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I buy this product every year, even though I do not itemize. It has saved me considerable money in the past. I use it for doing "what if" decision making analysis in addition to just filing my taxes. If I want to see the impact of a decision, I can create a sample return to evaluate. I have also found the best time to buy the program is Black Friday. But keep in mind, I have used the program for so many years, it is easy for me to enter data. A first time user may have a little trial and error when inputting data

I have been using H&R Block software for at least 20 years. I used to do my taxes on paper so I know how much time the software saves me. It retains information from the previous year which Is a real time saver and helps me to remember all of my info.
