The software instructions for a 1099-Q states to enter box X on line Y. If I did that the results showed my daughter would owe $1,500 on a 529 college disbursement that was used for education. When it should not be taxed at all if used for educational expenses. The 1099-Q was issued by the university so there is no disputing it was paid for education.

There was an issue with the clean vehicle act form which delayed filing my taxes for more than 5weeks. Many others subsequently purchased Intiut TurboTax to complete their filing. I was not happy with the handling of this problem

We've been using H&R Block tax preparation software for six years. The product is simple to use - even for a novice. Year over year, the app is improved. Resolving discrepancies could be easier, but all in all, it's a solid product.

(1) Linux versions really needed because Windows is becoming too tedious, complicated and costly, with Microsoft Windows 11 now forcing users to buy newer computers with motherboards that include a TPM 2.0 chip ("Trusted Platform Module") and throw out their previous but still perfectly good computers.
Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 next year. After that will H&R Block software continue to work on Windows 10, or will they, like Microsoft, demand that customers buy all new computers to run Windows 11?
And what comes after that? Windows 12, 13, 14 etc. on into the future, each new version requiring ever newer computers? Talk about planned obsolescence and lack of concern for the public!

(2) Aside from that, on Windows 10 H&R Block tax software guides you through the near-incomprehensible IRS forms, but confusion can still occur in places like IRA distributions, which in my case called for an obscure form which I'd never heard of and never received. Deciphering it was impossible.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
