I have used H&R for over 10 years and it has always been pretty easy to use. Price increase and lesser functionality ( Have to buy Deluxe to get State program) has not driven me away, yet.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

I have been a user for several years. The product is easy to use and generally accurate. The instructions are helpful and easy to follow. This year, however, there was a persistent problem with the software as it was reporting an error condition that would have prevented filing the return even though I had not entered any data in the field it was citing as causing the error. A software update corrected the problem in March but the correction should not have taken so long.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

This will be my last year with H&R. April 14 and 15th failed to be able to submit my state tax’s electronically. Tried 15 times and got charged each time. Had to submit by mail and get charges removed from card.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used this software for years and appreciate its features. The IRS (actually Congress) makes changes and/or additions every year which makes filing ones taxes challenging. One year I tried a different software and found it awkward to navigate.

The software worked well but they need to explain the standard deduction before listing all the itemized items. Most people have a ballpark idea whether they can make the standard before they enter all the items that won’t make any difference in their taxes if they take standard deduction
