I liked having a lot of last year's stuff autofilled as I used H&R last year. But, a few issues: the software wasn't running me through how to deal with 1099 Ks, both from ticket companies where I sometimes sell tickets I don't use or from what is now legalized gambling companies. I had to manually look this stuff up and that's what I'm relying on tax software for. Also, I filed electronically and picked the date of paying what I owed and after about a week not seeing the money decremented from my account I went back into the software and somehow it didn't get submitted!! So, that made me about a week late and I'm not sure (and the software also didn't tell me) if I'm going to owe a penalty for being late as I've never never been late filing in my life before. I'm annoyed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used this this tax software for 30 years now, back to the 'Taxcut' name and its proven itself to me. While doing taxes is not always fun, this software makes it fairly easy and efficient without having to pay an accountant. If you're interested in venturing out and doing your taxes on your own, I highly recommend the H&R Block tax software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Wells Fargo was on the list of Institutions that could download 1099s then it was dropped from the list. This made using this tool pointless for me. Other than that the tool worked fine after doing manual entry.
