Good Software for People With Modest Investments

I usually purchase this software each tax year as soon as it is available. Data entry for most topics is easy to follow. I like that this edition can handle most simple investment situations, including dividend income and stock sales. Entering stock sales requires attention to the details to avoid duplicate entries.

I always use HR BLOCK Even though one year, I tried TurboTax, but I’m so used to HRBlocK, I didn’t like TurboTax. But this year, I was a bit disappointed that they did not have it ready for the EV rebate until very late in March. I’m not sure if TurboTax also had the same problem. But needless to say, I started my return in January and could not submit it till April! I think that their health system needs to be improved. They used to have a hotline you could call, but I don’t see how I could do that nowadays.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Switched from TurboTax due to price. Was a bad decision. Difficult to navigate, due to there being very few drop down help buttons throughout (TurboTax has a bunch). As such, it took a lot longer than the competitor, as I had to keep googling things. You do get what you pay for.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
