Deadline filers were rewarded thus year with an 18-hour failure of a system that should have been hardened with more redundancy and high-availability than obviously exists. I was filing for our daughters and went as far as having the one who owed set up a Direct File account that we almost had to use. It's TurboTax next year, which is a shame after a decades-long relationship with TaxCut and Block. Where else has Block cut corners that are accidents waiting to happen?

It performed as I expected and hoped it would. I especially like the 'interview'. I like that it marks certain deductions as 'not common'. I like that the user can import documents, particularly from a financial investment firm and the software puts all the 1099-INT, DIV, and B in the proper places.

Not to mention do not charge a filing fee unless a submission was successful…terrible…
