I've used H&R Block tax prep software and its predecessor for well over a decade and found it helpful navigating the insane maze of IRS questions and forms. This year there was a technical issue at the server level preventing e-filing but fortunately it was resolved in time. I will use the product again--and will file earlier so I don't have to worry at the last minute!

Generally I have been happy with the software. This year I had a problem trying to download tax forms from two different accounts at Fidelity -- the software seems to assume that everyone has just one account and doesn't let you change to another. Took about a half hour and multiple tries before I was able to access the second one.

Block had a problem with their system but rather than be honest about it and admit it, they tried to make me think that it was a problem with my computer. I wasted half a day trying to fix the alleged problem with Block's bogus solutions but, of course I couldn't because Block was lying about the problem. .
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
