I have been using the Block software for several years. The Deluxe suits my needs and prepares a federal 1040 properly. Some of the convenience features are not useful because, for example, you cannot automatically download 1099 data from any entity that is not on Block's preset list. The Maryland state version makes mistakes, and I know this, because after I have prepared a Maryland return in the software, I do NOT pay to file through Block. Instead, I use the state's filing system. For the past two years, the tax calculated through Block was different than the actual tax due. For 2023, Block did not calculate the amount correctly for unknown reasons. For 2022, Block added an underpayment penalty that was NOT due. I would urge triple checking state numbers before filing Block's version of your return.

I have used the program for years. It was very frustrating that I couldn't e-file when I wanted to because of technical issues with the program. I would rate this 0 stars based on my experience with e-filing this year. It makes no sense to use this if you can't e-file.

Cons: Hard to prepare

I have been using your tax sw for years and have never had any issues until I tried to e-File this year. It took me dozens of attempts and I barely got my taxes in on time. I recommend the app, but would be cautious about buying it again unless I knew the e-File is fixed
