I have used H&R Block for several years. I find the program very good and helpful. This year the program was great. I was filing on the last day and your server would not accept my returns and efile them. I had to print them and take then to the PO. This caused much concern for me to get it in on time. I would recommend the product for doing your taxes, but not for reliably getting them efiled. And I know that it was the last day when I tried, but I paid to get them efiled. Nothing said that I could not do it on the last day.
Pros: Easy to import documents

This was my sixth straight year using H&R Block Software, and I was disappointed your product did not perform as in earlier years. I was able to download the s/w, but once I tried to prepare my return, the s/w kept trying to send me back for updates even though I had already downloaded all available updates! I finally figured out a workaround, but that took much more time than other years. Also, the update issue caused major problems w/ preparing and then printing my state return (AZ). You may have lost a customer....
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Several items were identified as issues in accuracy check and were repeatedly flagged with no way to provide an input to the software that the entries were correct, so it would not continue to flag them as errors. Other errors were identified that should have been taken care of by the software, as the IRS instructions were very clear and direct on how the information needed to be entered such that the software should have taken care of completing the requisite forms and directing the user on step to be taken. Unfortunately, the software allowed me to complete the forms through to filing step, and then notified me that the submission was rejected, but did not provide a clear explanation for the rejection, or what needed to be done. Required to go to the IRS website for publications and instructions too many times with this version of federal and state software. The previous versions of H&R Block software were better. Plan to try another tax software next year.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
