After using H&R Block software for a number of years, I have concluded that it does a very good job of getting the basics right. But it misses a few crucial things, makes some things overly complicated, and required me to behave as if I were doing my taxes the old-fashioned way. Often it says they have successfully imported my data, but it didn't and I input it the manual way. The coders know about this, because they insert explanations and warnings. I understand that their competitor is better, but I am more opposed to them. I found this review system to be similarly cumbersome. It did not complain about my nickname until I submitted my review, even though it said it was OK when I wrote it. It's just half-baked software and coding. It probably took me 4 or 5 times to get the review to submit. Fool me once....
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

I do not believe H&R Block is keeping up with all of the changes in the tax code and when you have a question, it is nearly impossible to get anybody to talk to in the chat. Bot sucks. This was a first time receiving a K-1 and the directions were not helpful whatsoever on how to enter all of the data and I kept getting an error.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been using H&R Block’s tax software for 4 years. It walks you through the preparation process with easy to understand instructions and a great price. It covers things I didn’t even know I had to address. I’ll definitely continue to use H&R Block’s tax software in future years.

I would like to see it run on a Chromebook for the same price. I switched to Chromebook for my everyday use and every year year I have to dust off my old windows 10 laptop to do taxes.
