this software wouldn't work with LPL or Tradeestation. The big competitor does. It makes entering data very complicated for things like stock options. I will have to switch teams next year because of this. The interview process is easier that the competitor, so if my taxes were simpler I would stick with H&R.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Everything was great except one major issue this year. I could not import my Merrill Lynch information as in the past which led to hours of data input. Fidelity and EJ still worked fine. No notice was given regarding this change and I found out only after buying the program and trying to use it like the many times in the past. I may have to switch to Turbo Tax which works with Merrill Lynch import.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Paying by credit card to the fed was confusing. I paid by credit to file to state and understood that. Paying by credit card to the fed should immediately take you to the site. Why do I need a nickname to submit this

Yes, I have used H&R Block for over 10 years. It works and fills the details in correctly. I have a lot of investment transactions (200+). It is easy to import from my broker, but the program makes me verify every single one of them. I have to click on each one, verify the details, and get back to the main page, and scroll down to find the next one, 200+ times. This takes literally hours for me to do it. That's the most frustrating part of the program, and I have left comments for a couple years now on this inconvenience. No fix to this. Maybe I'll try something different next year.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

This program worked well but it did give me an option to receive. My federal refund as a check which is no longer allowed. It took quite a while to get it sorted out and switched over to direct deposit after receiving a letter from the IRS. This also caused a delay in receiving my refund. The program should have given notice that that option wasn't available rather than offering it.
