It's nice to have software that does nearly all the work for you, but it does nothing to explain how any of it works. Even though our incomes have changed little, we are stuck with a very large balance owed and I just don't understand why.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents

The quality of the tax software was really bad this year and fixes were not available for weeks! One of the issues I had was a repeat from the same issue I encountered last year. State program is very incomplete and the help says you should consult the states forms. Initially the wizard for EV credits wouldn’t even launch and didn’t alert the user that there was an issue. Several wizards asked for information it already had.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
