I have used HR Block tax software for >10 years. Overall it works reasonably well. The interview portion seems comprehensive, it does the math accurately, and draws data from the previous year. I don’t like the accuracy review. It points out what seems like useless details without sufficient details to correct

If you're going to charge for the state preparation, and also include federal preparation and filing, then you should also include state filing at no additional cost. You're exposing customers to risk if they have a state refund, because they have to manually provide banking information in the mail filing. Overall software is generally okay but nothing special compared to your competitors.

Multiple dates were promised for delivery of Form 2210 for irregular income. It kept being pushed out. Even telephone reps couldn't tell me accurately as to expected date of availability Paper version from IRS was on their website during this time. A similar experience in future will prompt me to change vendors..
The software for the 2023 tax year was a disappointment. I was still waiting for final updates for forms well into March and ended up filing elsewhere with a free website for my partner because he didn’t want to wait any longer for your updates. So I felt that I got less value out of the software this year.
