Does the basic stuff well, but has some deficiencies. Some forms are a little tricky and involve reading IRS regs to properly complete - something the average person would not be able to do well. The biggest issue I had though is that the program allowed me to designate receiving a refund by check, but the IRS has started phasing out checks. The program did not alert me to that problem.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Used for many years. Still waiting to be able to use the up/down & left/right arrows on the keyboard to navigate windows. Please add that feature.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

This year we had complicated stock sale transactions. I wish I had input them all myself, rather than let the program import them, because I had to verify them all anyway and the program hadn't put them in the same order as our 1099-Bs. I think something was wrong about one of the imported ones, too, but the whole experience was so frustrating that I've forgotten the details.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Was not able to handle married couple living in different states for part if the year. Actually told me to make a "dummy" federal return for married, file separate to figure out state tax.

Disappointed

Each year there is something new that make filing with you difficult. This year it was with the state return, concerning my 1099R. One of them did not have an amt in box 16 and it flagged it as an error. If there is nothing there it should take the 0 amt and let it go thru. State taxable amt, It would not let me print my return. I have paid good money for this unacceptable outcome. I am really disappointed. I could not get in contact with anyone that could help me. Not the local office the online help which referred me to the local office. You are slipping.
