I have been using Turbo Tax since about 1990 and for 2023 I was forced to either buy a new computer because TT would not install on my 11 year old Mac or switch to H&R Block. Glad I switched, great product. It imported the prior year info with no problem and was very intuitive to use

I've been using H&R at-home tax software since 2006. It's convenient and easy to use but not fool-proof. The last two years, after submitting my returns and receiving my refund, the IRS found something I overlooked and sent me an additional refund check. That was a good thing, but I felt that the tax software should have caught my mistake.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

I have very uncomplicated taxes. Standard deduction, No property, corporate job, single, no dependents, etc. Not sure how but the software f-ed up and the IRS sent me a bill months later for unpaid taxes. Ridiculous that I even buy software but I wanted the peace of mind that my taxes would be done right. WRONG!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
