I've used H&R Block Deluxe software for years and on a few occasions I was easily able to save my work and copy the file and then experiment with the copied file by switching between Married filing jointly vs separately to see which was more advantageous for us. I tried this with the 2023 software and was sorely disappointed to find that it was no longer able to handle it easily and efficiently. The software kept using my W-2 numbers for my wife's calculation. I was forced to have to enter just my wife's W-2 numbers into a whole new form in order to correctly get my wife's Married filing separately results.
While it worked, this is an old program, clunky and harder to navigate than others that I have purchased
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used their software for two decades. It is accurate and easy to use. I will continue to use it until ongoing price increases make alternatives, including the free ones offered by IRS, a better alternative.
2021 filing error by the software resulted in both W-2s being attributed to the same person. this led to a major mess that we are still trying to resolve. the "help" line has *not* helped. waiting for IRS decision on amended return filled un Sept 2023 9 months ago, then WILL be filing a claim with Block
After preparing, I owed Federal tax. As I finished and prepared to send, software asked for my credit card. I thought this was to pay my taxes, but it was only to pay for the state filing fee. 3 months later the IRS notifies me that I am late paying my taxes and imposed a $250 fine. This, of course, was my fault for not reading your fine print... but it wasn't very clear that I had to wait until my return was accepted before I should pay.
