I have been with H&R Block tax software for some 30 years and will continue for as many years as I have left. Loading the prior year's information into the current year is one of the biggest advantages as compared to the free software out there today. There is a lot of data that is pre-loaded from last year that I don't have to look up or type in. A real time-saver. Plus, I like "Take me to...". I can easily move around the program to whatever topic I want, but also move sequentially through the program, beginning to end, before I submit my return.
Pros: Easy to import documents

The program works well. There is one defect in the state ( NJ) program. Railroad Retirement is NEVER taxed by any state, federal law. The older HRBlock programs knew this, recently in past years it shows as a fully taxable item on the state form. If someone does not know better ( example a new preparer...) clients will be improperly assessed taxes at the state level.

I bought a new computer and can NOT move my 2023 tax files from my old computer to the new computer. I have used H&R Block for over 10 years and love the way it imports all the needed data from the previous year. Tried to sign in to my account and have completed the various security requirements to the point of being asked to send a picture of my drivers license and I gave up. Other than that your product works great. Please e-mail me with directions how to move my tax files to new computer.

didn't let me make choices on Utah state filing!

My Utah state software portion did not ask whether I wanted to file joint or separate, nor did it tell me how I filed. It also did not ask whether I wanted to itemize deductions or use the UT standard deduction--and it did not tell me which method was chosen. You left me filing blind!!
