I have been using the H&R Block Deluxe Software for many years and would not even think about using another tax preparation software package.

Seemed some data did not transfer properly from federal to state all the time. Also seemed a bit more cumbersome than previous years.
Cons: Time consuming

Not bad but worse than other H&R Block options

The software felt clunky and tedious. I've used the browser based H&R Block system to do the same simple taxes in the past and it was faster and more streamlined. In the future I'll stick with the browser based system.

Cons: Time consuming

Easy & powerful as TurboTax. Want Linux version.

I have been using TurboTax literally for decades -- from the early 90's pre-Windows DOS versions. I switched this year because privacy is important to me.
* Windows 11 is unacceptably invasive of my privacy, and I will not use it. I've switched all my family to Linux Mint, but I kept one PC on Windows 10 in order to run programs that require Windows.
* My tax return contains private data, and I want direct control over it. I want a locally-installed program that stores my data locally, not a web service program. Sadly, TurboTax only supports local installation on Win 11 this year -- so I went looking for an alternative that would run on Linux or at least on Win 10. I didn't find any mature, comprehensive, user-friendly options on Linux, but I did find H&R Block that would run locally on Win 10.
* I found the software just as easy to use as TurboTax, and powerful enough for my tax situation. I would give it 5 stars for my user experience, but I'm subtracting a star because it is not available natively for Linux. Yes, I could try Wine or WinBoat, etc. -- but I want a program that will run natively on Linux.

Have used your tax software for many years. It is well-organized and I like the interview approach to moving through topics. One suggestion I'd like to see for future editions: a way to enlarge the text. As I get older, I'm finding it somewhat hard to read the small text on my screen. (If you already have this option, please make it easier to find. I looked, but couldn't find anywhere I could change this.)
