I've used H&R software for several years, and I only stay with it because in can import my data each year from the previous year, even though that feature needs a little improvement. The software leaves you hanging towards the end when it flags some thing that need to be fixed or reviewed. It called for me to fix a form that wasn't even available in the software. I thought it odd that I had to re-type in all my banking information for the state return that I had already entered for my federal return (do they really think I have a different checking account for my state return than I used for my federal return???). After finishing up state, it was a bit confusing to figure out how to print it out.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Product is easy to follow and I have never had any IRS issues. Have used it for business filing for many years. Best if you keep using it since your information carries forward each year. Need to be able to file attachments such as death certificates and forms that are not part of the package electronically. Let me import a file when needed.

I had a problem develop in the program where the software insisted that I should have a penalty for failing to withdraw the RMD from my IRA. I ended up deleting the document and starting over and eventually got to complete the return correctly.
