It is always difficult to go thru the numerous steps before the return is set to be e-filed
Once the return is filed however things usually go smoothly.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

My tax situation is not complex, just some W-2s,1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1099-B, so I did not use some of the more advanced features in the software. It did save me lots of time to read the IRS pubs, and the e-file is convenient.
It also has some issues at the same time. The W-2 PDF import does not work consistently, so I have to manually type in the data on some W-2. The help and AI-assistant do not cover its own error messages, and the AI-assistant is less useful than any search engine. The state portion even misses some form, so I have to go to the state's website to download the PDF, print it out and file it in snail mail.

I can't believe I left turbo Tax for this! The program kept asking me for info. I never, ever, had to provide on TT. Examples: wanted me to fill out some form (8626 or something like that) because of an IRA distribution from an inherited IRA. On tax review, kept giving me the same errors to correct even though I didn't have the info they wanted because there wasn't any info to give! (on 1099-R-state payer ID, etc and the income was not taxed by the State to begin with! which during the process they never asked if it was tax exempt like TT does ). I found it hard to run reviews at will like TT. It never did complete the imports from Fidelity even though it said it successfully connected to Fidelity, then I had to keep doing it over and over with the same result so I ended up having to input manually!
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am happy in general with this product, but there is one area that's very frustrating. They don't support the paperwork for Publicly Traded Partnerships very well. That would be (reluctantly) fine if they at least included all the necessary forms in their program for you to be able to fill in the added forms and include in your filing, but that doesn't appear to be the case. PLEASE HELP SUPPORT PTP's in the future!!!

I have used Turbo Tax for years. Since they went to Windows 11 I switched to H&R. I wish I would have switched much earlier. H&R software is much easier and importing TT’s software was a breeze. I would recommend H&R software to anyone.

This is a great product that I’ve used over two decades. The best tax software that I’ve seen on the market. I tried their closest competitor, Turbo Tax, and was totally disappointed. It brought me back to Tax Cut and I will never dip out again,
