A few flaws

I have used this software before and it did my federal return this year very well. I had to paper file my state return and the instructions were not as easy to follow as the e-file instructions.
I had a hard time finding all the correct directions for filing the state return.

I've been using the H&R Block Deluxe software for about ten years and I would generally say it is a good value. It's a little weak on specific clergy issues such as housing allowances from 403b plans and there are some places where the instructions refer you to IRS publications or to consult your tax preparer. I use the software specifically because I don't want to pay a tax advisor or try to understand IRS terminology. 2024 will probably be my last year to use H&R Block software since I'm done with Windows this year and moving to Linux. Unfortunately there is no H&R Block software for Linux. I'm hoping to use the IRS direct file online program.
