I’ve been using for the last three years and was happy until this year. I had to complete Form 8949. It was confusing and I needed to adjust by cost basis. The instructions ask if the cost basis was correct and showed the 1099 B number when I said no and entered the adjusted number I assumed it entered the correct cost basis in column g, but it didn’t, it changed the cost basis column. I assumed everything was correct because it calculated the correct number that went to schedule D, but it entered a zero in column g. As I said the finished form was correct, but now I wonder if I will be audited or I will receive a letter from IRS questioning the cost basis

Extremely satisfied with the H&R Block Deluxe plus State tax software. Only one minor issue is that some of the forms are not finalized as soon as taxes can be filed and have to wait several weeks and a couple of updates before return can be completed.

I've used HR Block tax software for my personal return at least 20 years now. I love that it imports previous years data so I don't have to look up and re-enter it every year. It also carries all of the info from my federal return into the state program, which makes finishing the state program a snap. The software is thorough and easy to use. It's helped me through such things as an inherited IRA, the sale of a deceased family member house that had been held in an LLC, etc. Electronic filing is easy.
