Waiting and waiting for updates. Federal return incorrectly counted my state refund as income - despite the fact that I used the standard deduction for 2023. Corrected this by confirming that my wife and I were both over 65 in 2023 (AND THAT MAKES NO SENSE - POSSIBLE CODING ERROR?)
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have bought this every year to do my, and my families taxes, since it was called Taxcut. A big issue I have is the security feature that requires you to have last years taxes. It asks you what the number on last years form was, line such and such. You have to look it up. If the number is imported from last years taxes, in the computer already, why do I have to look it up? I would understand if this was my first year using this software. Also, I fought with it for about an hour trying to clear the SSA income warning because, it says, Im over 62. I had no SS income but I could not clear the error. I know it is just a warning but, it should ask, if you are sure or something like that, and clear the error.
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Dad buys the software edition with the 5 free filings every year for our family. He has taught my sister brother and I how to do our taxes The program idoes flow easily and when something needs to be explained is is easy to understand. The only opinion I could offer is to code in the Windows feature that magnifies the pages to make it easier to read. My Dad says he has used this software since it was Kiplinger's TaxCut, about 35 yrs.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

They let other people submit your tax return

Someone submitted my tax return through one of your softwares so buying the program was pointless. I had to mail my returns one is lost. And the other is arriving late. More money to dish out because I neeeded tracking on it. I have been using your program over 10 years youd think any discrepancy the program would flag it. Watch out everyone
