I have always used a CPA firm to do my taxes. This was my first year doing it myself. There is a learning curve as you work through the interview process, but things start to flow more easily as you learn how to navigate the program. The only thing I encountered that wasn't quite intuitive to me was figuring out how to enter a loss on a sale of stocks. I also paid for my state return and that return was pretty seamless as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

O.K. for federal, but problem with Georgia state

The federal software worked, but there is a glitch in the Georgia state software. I have talked with software support, and they will work to find the problem. The data from the federal return is apparently transmitted to the state software. No separate file is put in the HR Block folder for the state tax return, so there is no way to delete it and start over if there is a transmission of data problem from the federal software. Also, the state software limits overriding any data error.

Overall, very happy with the software and interface. However, the questions around RMD are confusing and poorly explained; they could be much clearer. I spent half an hour working through why I was being assessed a penalty on my RMD when it was taken timely. I got it straightened out, but it required a fair amount of searching IRS Bulletins.
