I've used HR Block software for many years and this is the first year I've had issues. When I tried to efile my returns my state was rejected with a bogus error about my federal return. I had to call into support to find out the error details and even this error detail seems incorrect. It was suggested I wait for the next software update and try efiling my state again.

I am very happy with the federal returns. I have been using the deluxe Federal for years . This year I got the deluxe federal and state and although the state was very easy because it copied from the Federal return. I didn't find out until I was ready to file that I had to pay to file the state return and was very unhappy with that. Since I get 5 efiles of federal returns with the deluxe kit and only use one that somehow that would entitle me to a free state return. My mistake.

Doing my taxes was for the most part straight forward, no issues. I've used this software for several years now, and find it way more easy to do my taxes compared that other big name. One minor issue that arose. Entering the password for online downloads is awkward. On any of the forms downloaded, the password has tow spaces to make noting it easier. I cut and paste these, but the software does not allow spaces, so the last two valid characters are dropped. This necessitated editing the pasted password, then entering the two truncated letters.
