I have used H&R Block @Home for many years, but I have had occasion to open previous years returns, after the PDF bkups were lost. I want to know why I need to have the same year's program in order to open to original file. Each year's software edition should be able to open any year's return. I can't be expected to keep each tears copy of the program, just-in-case.

This is the fourth or fifth year of using Block Tax products and this was the most frustrating I've encountered. The filling out the forms wasn't the issue, it was the submitting of the completed returns. It took numerous attempts over three days to accomplish this despite the repeated "server not found" errors even with the disabling of the firewall.
