I've used your tax preparation software for many years and have always had problems entering data correctly for the foreign tax credit Form 1116. Your program loops me through three times asking the same questions. Maybe this is because the Form 1116 has three columns for three different foreign countries but your software does not make it clear and I entered the same data 3 times which was incorrect. This year I called your help line and the best they could do was refer me to the IRS instructions which I find confusing. I use your software to avoid having to discern the tax instructions. I finally got it correct when I tried to submit to the IRS and your software told me to fix an error in the Form 1116. I had to compare to my 2023 returns Form 1116 to make the correction.

I completed the Federal in good time and there were no issues. The state of Oregon was another mater. Having the mini forms was a big adjustment. It made the process harder.

This is the fifth year I have used this software and it is MUCH worse than the first four times. Poor and confusing instructions, Tried to charge a penalty for withdrawing MORE than than the MRD from 457B retirement account, Reliance on quoting sections from the tax code instead of explaining them. This was probably my final year to use this product unless there is some evidence of a return to what it had been in years past. Navigation sometimes seemed to loop back to questions I had already completed.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
