ACCURACY CHECK AT THE COMPLETION OF THE RETURN

I have used this deluxe version for several years and is good, but i was disappointed with this years, when it came to the final review of the "accuracy" of the return. I went to fix a few items mentioned and found no matter how i complied and filled the items noted, they wouldn't go away and were back once again. I finally gave up and filled with the items open. I even got a warning that i might get flagged for trying to take the earned income credit, when i was doing no such thing. I was submitting a "home energy credit" and checked the 5695 form and verified i did it right.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I used a different tax software for many years until that company became greedy and wanted to charge extra for investment functions. I switched to H&R Block software and have been very satisfied for about five years now. I have retirement income, soc security income, and also current employment income. I also have a variety of investment income and itemize deductions. The software handles all these. Help screens are available on most topics. I have never needed to use their help line.

This is my second year using H & R Block softwaare. For the most part I have found it to be quite easy to use and loaded with prompts to assist you.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I am a long time of H&R Block Deluxe Software and has always done a good job of doing my taxes. The program fills in all of last year's 1099 which helps you not forget one of them and if not needed it is easily deleted.

The tax software is generally easy to use, but I had two problems with it. One, it said that I failed to withdraw the RMD from my IRA account and owed a $19,000 plus penalty, even though I had withdrawn more than the RMD and entered all 1099-R information correctly. The other problem was my efiled returns were rejected because the ID PIN number was incorrect or missing, and this was never addressed in the tutorial instructions or final check. Steps should be included to prevent this problem in the future.
I would recommend this to a friend!
