This is my 9th year using HR Block tax software. The price for the software is very reasonable. I like the ability to switch between the interview and forms to input data. I like being able to "go to" any section easily. My one complaint is that the 2024 tax year edition does not quickly estimate 2025 estimated tax payments using the 2024 tax data in the H&R Block Advantage tax planning. The check box to estimate tax based on 100% or 110% of the current yeas has been removed. For this reason i have removed one star. Hopefully next year this feature will return.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I've used H&R Block software for my US income tax for many years, and until this year, with no problems. This year I failed to make a required minimum distribution (RMD) from a traditional IRA. Unfortunately, your section on "Excess Contributions" was hopelessly confusing and the interview led to an incorrectly filled-out form 5329. I eventually downloaded the IRS instructions and manipulated to interview to produce the correctly filled-out form 5329. I suggest you review and revise this section to deal explicitly with failures to make RMDs.

Overall a good product, I can do my taxes easily and quickly with the H&R Interview type process. I don't like the manner in which the review takes me back to forms I never saw in the interview process. The review asks to fill in blanks or verify data. This should be done during interview when in the actual section being worked, not at the end.

This software has exactly the same bug that I complained about last year. If you sell RBUs, the software does not guide you through the process, you have to manually find the correct form and enter the info there. I forgot about this bug and mistakenly bought this buggy software again. I

The software works up to a point, but then gets stuck and continuously crashes at the Foreign Asset section when clicking next. The only way to overcome this glitch is to reboot in Safe Mode on an M1 MacBook in MacOS 15.3. I was then able to get to the next section without crashing. This exact same problem occurred 2 years ago with the Deluxe version using MacOS 14.7.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
