I tried to get help, but after many tries with the help AI on the side of the screen, I was told that I had to switch to the download version. How did I know this wasn't the download version??? There was no notice that it was different. I've used HRBlock for at least 10 years, and now it's been changed? Anyway, I found the download version and paid $65.00. THEN,,, Nothing would transfer from the version I had already started, so I spent an hour trying to transfer, until I went to HELP again and learned that nothing transfers between version and I would have to start over. I finally gave up and filed for an extension because I have a more complicated situation this year with a lumpsum SSA payment to deal with. I'm wondering if it will even be possible to complete my taxes on the downloaded form. I need help with this and you aren't helping.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

great software except did not allow Merrill import

Entering taxes was easy as it could be except it dId not allow me to import data from Merrill. If it had allowed me to import data from Merrill, i would have given 5 stars out of 5

We have used Tax Cut for years and like it. This year was a flop. We had issues with adding a QCD and unclear explanations of the new tax incentives.

Not as simple as using TurboTax. The state section could be better. The question about filing an extension on last year's filing. I didn't file an extension and paid what was owed on state immediately. The question on your software in which should have not been asked in the first place was misleading. I had to check with the IRS to confirm what I had already known to be true. Transferring information over from Federal to State and still being asked questions that don't make sense is bogus.

Been using since the mid 90's.
Every year I open the previous years return for comparison. It would be really helpful if you could change the "color" of the accents so that when i toggle (alt tab) between returns, i could immediately know that i'm on the other years return... Just change between two or three colors conseculatively... thanks. I mean Heck! It doesn't cost you anything.

I have used H&R BLOCK tax software for decades, and this was the first year it drove me crazy. Steps were missed in the creation of this year's software that caused failure to save info that I had entered, requiring me to re-enter it more than once. In one section, not only did it not save what I had entered, it CHANGED the info I had entered, crediting the item to my husband rather than to me. Because of these errors in carryover, I had to go over every detail of my return with a fine-tooth comb to ensure its accuracy before filing it. What a time-consuming pain! It took me 36 straight hours before I could file them, as compared to 3-4 hours in all past years.
